About Hello Art

Hello Art was founded on the idea that art should be fun and approachable. Our studio’s name, “Hello Art”, is an invitation to all— join us on a journey of self-discovery through art. We aim to foster a safe and collaborative art space for all to create expressively and freely.

Our studio ethos embodies a spirit of playfulness. Adopting a playful mentality makes learning enjoyable, which helps our students create with an open mind. We teach our students not to fixate on one way of making art because we believe that there are no rules in art. Our mission is to empower our students with the knowledge and tools of art so that they may discover new ways of seeing for themselves.

Located just a short distance away from Upp Thomson Station, our cosy studio space is easily accessible by both bus and train. There are many well-established eateries, cafes and dessert shops in the surrounding area nearby.

Hello Art was established by Emil Chew, an artist with years of experience as an arts educator. He was a Fine Arts graduate from the LASALLE College of the Arts, specialising in painting and drawing. In 2020, he was awarded the prestigious UOB Painting of the Year Award, where he clinched the top award for Most Promising Artist of the Year. You may watch the video below to learn more.
